Pula and its beauties
Casa Grace is located in one of the undisputed pearls of South Sardinia. Pula is in fact the ideal destination for those looking for the sea all year round, in summer for swimming, diving and tanning and in autumn and winter for the poetic atmosphere.
It is a tourist village of 7500 people, part of the metropolitan city of Cagliari only 35 km away. It is rich in naturalistic, archaeological and cultural treasures.
PULA
The beaches
Pula offers its visitors some of the most popular beaches in Sardinia.
Just over one kilometer from Casa Grace, you will find the beach su Guventeddu (appreciated by kite and wind surfers even in the winter months), the splendid beach is Figus and the suggestive beach of Nora, next to one of the richest and most interesting archaeological areas of the island.
Nora
The archaeological area of Nora is absolutely worth a visit. In fact, it houses the ruins of the first Phoenician city in Sardinia (dating back to the 8th century BC).
It was one of the main commercial centers in the Punic and Roman ages and today you can admire beautiful mosaics, colonnades and a theater which is the setting for the summer festival The Night of Poets. The archaeological site is open all year round and visitors are accompanied by qualified guides.
On the Nora promontory stands the Coltellazzo tower, a Spanish fortress built in the 16th century. It was part of the warning system against pirate attacks along the coast of the island.
The lagoon of Nora is also certainly worth a visit, an ecosystem rich in biodiversity. In fact, it hosts luxuriant Mediterranean vegetation and a large number of bird and fish species. Inside you will find the Visitor Center and the Cetacean and Sea Turtle Recovery Center.
The churches
Among the churches that enrich Pula, the two oldest ones certainly have particular importance.
San Raimondo church was built by the Mercedarian friars in 1709. It is one of the intermediate stages during the celebrations in honor of the martyr Sant’Efisio. Located within walking distance from Casa Grace.
The small Romanesque church of Sant’Efisio is located in Nora and the beginning of its construction dates back to the 11th century. It has 3 naves with barrel vaults and a portico built between the 16th and 17th centuries.
It is particularly loved by all residents and not only, because it is the main stage during the pilgrimage of the martyr’s simulacrum, which leaves from Cagliari on May 1st, arrives in Pula the following day and is welcomed in Nora on May 3rd.
The church is often chosen as a wedding location due to its position a stone’s throw from the sea. It is less than two kilometers from Casa Grace.
Urban parks and gardens
Casa Grace stands in a comfortable position within Pula. It is located a few steps from the municipal park “Wood in the city“. It hosts hundreds of plant species including ornamental trees, shrubs, fruit and medicinal plants.
About 200 meters from Casa Grace there are two other green spaces, equipped with fitness areas and recreational facilities for children.

Pula offers its visitors various opportunities to discover the richness of its territory. We recommend a visit to the Ethnographic Museum of Uses and Customs of the People of Pula. Its collection of antique clothes, precious jewels and objects of peasant life is currently housed in Corso Vittorio Emanuele 67.
The town, besides overlooking the sea, is surrounded by reliefs which are an excellent destination for all cycling and hiking lovers. Walking along the paths of Pixinamanna state forest it is possible to stop in picnic areas and it is not uncommon to spot eagles, hawks, deer, fallow deer and hares.
For all golf lovers Is Molas Club is a must. It is in fact one of the most beautiful and famous golf courses in Italy and hosts 27 holes.
Less than 6 km from Casa Grace is the BluFan seasonal water park, in the neighboring municipality of Sarroch. It is ideal for spending a day of fun.
Pula boasts a rich summer nightlife. The central Piazza del Popolo (just 1 km from Casa Grace) and the surrounding streets are animated by musical performances and cultural events. There are also excellent restaurants, pizzerias, ice cream parlors, pubs and opportunities to taste the excellent local products during the food festivals.
For those wishing to explore the splendid beaches along the southern coast of the island, we recommend starting with Santa Margherita. It extends for several kilometers and is also an ideal place for walks and bike rides.
Chia offers the dream beaches Campana (famous for its dunes), su Giudeu (where it is possible to admire the pink flamingos of the nearby lagoon) and Cala Cipolla, an authentic naturalistic jewel. They are about 20 km from Casa Grace and highly coveted destinations for people looking for emotions, boat excursions and breathtaking scenery.
The territory of Teulada offers the enchanting Tuerredda beach, one of the most beautiful in Sardinia, with white sand and crystal clear waters. It is a “must see” which is about 24 km from Casa Grace.
Cagliari
The capital of the island (35 km from Casa Grace) is known in the Sardinian dialect as Casteddu (castle). It has so much to offer to lovers of history, nature and good food.
Its origins date back to the Neolithic age and the evidence of its past is clearly visible especially in the districts of the historic center (Castello, Villanova, Marina, Stampace). It is no coincidence that the city has been chosen as one of the Italian Capitals of Culture.
Among the churches, we point out the Basilica of San Saturnino (the oldest in Sardinia, built in the 5th century), Santa Maria Assunta Cathedral dating back to the 13th century and the Basilica of Bonaria built in the 18th century.
Among the monuments that certainly are worth a visit, we mention San Michele Castle (12th century), the Pisan Towers of the Elephant and San Pancrazio and the Bastion of Saint Remy where you can enjoy one of the most beautiful panoramas of the city . Cagliari also hosts a beautiful Roman Amphitheater (partially excavated in the rock) and, on the hill of Tuvixeddu, the largest existing Punic necropolis.
For nature lovers we recommend a walk in the parks of Monte Claro, Monte Urpinu and Capo Sant’Elia (dominated by the promontory known as The Devil’s Saddle). The city is also home to the wonderful pink flamingos that populate two of the most important wetlands in Europe: the Molentargius Park and the Santa Gilla Lagoon.
Cagliari is internationally known for its famous beach, the Poetto, a 9 km long stretch of sand and one of the absolute favorite destinations.
